The Edge On Folk is broadcast every Saturday from 8am to noon, Pacific Time, on CiTR fm 101.9 in Vancouver, and live on www.citr.ca < wherever you are. The show has been hosted by Steve Edge, more or less every week since June 1985! It is now syndicated on CHIR fm on Saltspring Island one week later on Sundays at 10am, and Wednesdays at 5pm. St. Patrick's Day Special: Started the show in Africa, headed to the Middle East (including a Persian song and a rather topical oldie from Boiled In Lead - Brave Bombardier - which refers to the Strait of Hormuz while the bomb-aimer remarks of his potential victims: "never their faces I'll see".
I then played music from all across Canada - with a few side trips to focus on 19th century African-American sailor turned one-legged busker Billy Waters, and Orcadian quartet Gnoss, before the second half of my weekly four hour musical romp allowed me to spin some of my all-time favourite Irish songs and tunes to kick off St Patrick's week.
